Job Description

A leading Housing Association is seeking a Head of Internal Audit and Risk Management with an internal audit/risk background and to lead a team and oversee the integration of an acquisition into the organisation. The candidate must be self-sufficient and able to hit the ground running. The purpose of the post is to lead a team to effectively support non-executive members, the executive and business line management of the organisation, subsidiary and associated companies (the group) who must ensure: * The business effectively controls and manages its risks * Has effective risk transfer mechanisms * The control environment is being effectively audited and reviewed to ensure appropriate controls are in place and operating effectively. The person must come from an internal audit/risk background and they will be overseeing the integration of an acquisition into the organisation and will have the following background and experience: * High level experience in audit & risk management. * Development of internal audit programmes including IT audit and a risk management strategy. * Appropriate qualification in audit, accountancy, risk management or other equivalent (eg MBA). * Experience of working with organisations that are integrating * Preferably a chartered accountant * Experience of developing a team * Demonstrate a good understanding of the other components of risk management & business continuity The candidate can be based from either the Beaconsfield or Edgbaston offices.
